Bar guides special solutions
A special bar guide solution is required when requirements cannot be met with standard solutions. That is why we develop, design and manufacture special solutions for your individual use. The focus here is specifically on bar end machining. Are you looking for bar guides that allow you to machine the ends of long bars in lathes? Do you want them to be easy to use, flexible and quick to change bars? Then take a look at the following projects or contact us now for a no-obligation consultation.
Bar Guide - Guide 50/6000

Customer Requirement
We received the following initial situation and specifications from the customer:
It must be possible to machine bars and tubes up to 6 m long without any problems. An easy-to-load bar guide is particularly important here, as this involves machining the ends of bars.
It must be possible to precisely guide and machine bar diameters of up to 50 mm.
In addition, the safety of the lathe (DMG) is a priority: under no circumstances should it be possible to interfere with rotating parts in order to ensure safe operation of the machine.
Implementation
The special solution was implemented to the customer’s complete satisfaction.
The following points were fulfilled:
The 6-metre-long bars are loaded into the special bar guide solution from behind or from above. This ensures easy and safe loading of the system.
Bar diameters from 10 mm to 50 mm can be machined with precision, enabling a high degree of flexibility in bar and tube machining.
The safety concept has been fully implemented – including the connection to the lathe (DMG) – to ensure reliable and safe operation.
Bar Guide - Guide 150/4000

Customer Requirement
Implementation
The special solution was implemented to the customer’s complete satisfaction.
The following points were fulfilled:
The 4 m long bars are loaded into the special solution bar guide from behind/above. Three independently mounted steady rests serve as guides. These can be moved and fixed as required. Bar diameters from 12 to 150 mm can be processed. The use of steady rests means that no tools are required to adjust the guides. There are different modes for the various applications on the machine. The safety concept, including connection to the lathe, was also implemented.

Customer Requirement
We received the following initial situation and specifications from the customer:
It should be possible to machine 3 m long ball screws. Furthermore, the performance of the lathe should not be affected. The bar guide should be easy to load, as this involves bar end machining. This should be achieved by automatically opening the protective cover at the end of the programme. It should be possible to guide bar diameters of up to 43 mm. The safety of the lathe (DMG) must be guaranteed. This means that it must not be possible to interfere with rotating parts.
Implementation
The special solution was implemented to the customer’s complete satisfaction.
The following points were fulfilled:
The 3 m long bars are loaded into the special bar guide from behind/above. The maximum performance of the lathe spindle was not affected. Furthermore, bar diameters of 10–43 mm can be machined. The space requirement of the system is limited to 0.6 m². The protective cover opens automatically at the end of the programme. The safety concept, including connection to the lathe, was also implemented.
Bar Guide - Guide 33/2200
More Information
Customer Requirement
We received the following initial situation and specifications from the customer:
2 m long bars are to be guided in a simple spindle extension. The performance of the lathe must not be impaired. Loading the bar should be easy. Furthermore, bar diameters of up to 63 mm are to be guided. Safety must be guaranteed. This means that it must not be possible to interfere with rotating parts. In this case, the lathe is a DMG MORI beta 800.

Customer Requirement
We received the following initial situation and specifications from the customer:
Until now, the material has been guided freely on an open support. The stainless steel tubes to be manufactured have a length of 1200 – 2200 mm. The diameter is 33 mm. However, it should also be possible to guide other diameters. It should be possible to change over to other diameters without tools. The special solution for loading the bar guide should be from above. A stop with a repeat accuracy of +- 0.1 mm is required.
Implementation
The special solution was implemented to the customer’s complete satisfaction.
The following points were fulfilled:
Bars up to 2.2 m can be loaded into the spindle extension from above. A stop with a repeat accuracy of +- 0.1 mm was implemented. The conversion to different diameters is carried out as desired without tools. The space requirement is approx. 0.6 m². The safety concept, including connection to the conventional lathe, was also successfully implemented.
Our company specialises in developing and manufacturing high-quality bar guides for bar end machining, and also offers customised special solutions. These special bar guides are crucial for stability and precision during the machining of bars made from different materials. They ensure that the rods are held securely in position throughout the entire machining process, minimising vibrations and deviations and significantly improving the quality and accuracy of the finishing process.
Various techniques are used in bar end machining, such as turning, milling, drilling and grinding. Each of these methods requires precise positioning of the bar in order to achieve optimal results. Our customised bar guides play a central role in this by clamping the bar in place and enabling uniform machining.
Our modern bar guides are equipped with advanced technologies, including automatic clamping systems and controls that further increase efficiency and precision. They are flexible and can be adapted to different bar diameters and shapes, which expands their versatility and range of applications.
By implementing our customised special solutions in bar end machining, companies can increase product quality, reduce waste and shorten production times. This leads to greater efficiency and profitability in manufacturing. We work closely with our customers to develop tailor-made solutions that meet their specific requirements and optimally support their production processes. Our expertise and commitment guarantee high-quality, durable and high-performance bar guides that are tailored to the individual needs of our customers.
