Wide range of parts
Cambrian can select from a wide range of parts, including transparent, plastic and shiny metal parts, etc.
Robust in all lighting conditions
Cambrian has been designed to be suitable for all external lighting conditions. It works in sunlight, in a disco and under typical indoor lighting conditions
Speed
The response time is approximately 0.2 seconds. With high-speed industrial robots, cycle times of 2–3 seconds can be achieved in a bin-picking setup.
Accuracy
Cambrian can pick up and recognise parts with an accuracy of less than one millimetre.
The Cambrian 3D camera represents a significant advance in image processing technology, particularly in the context of bin picking, a critical component in various areas of industrial automation. Bin picking – the selection and grasping of unsorted objects from a container – has long been a challenge for automation systems due to the variety of objects, their positions and orientations within the container, as well as the different materials and shapes.
Traditional 2D cameras struggle to provide accurate depth information. This limits the ability to perform precise object recognition and grasp planning. The Cambrian 3D camera solves this problem by integrating 3D imaging technologies. These enable not only the detection of the positions and orientations of objects, but also the accurate reconstruction of their three-dimensional shapes. This is achieved through the use of stereo vision, structured light projection or time-of-flight technologies. This enables the camera to capture precise depth information about the scene.
A key feature of the Cambrian 3D camera is its ability to process and analyse large amounts of data in real time. Thanks to powerful processors and specialised image processing algorithms, the camera can quickly capture, analyse and interpret complex scenes. This enables robots to identify, localise and grasp objects in real time. This will lead to a significant increase in efficiency and productivity in manufacturing, warehousing and logistics.
Furthermore, the Cambrian 3D camera is often integrated with machine learning and artificial intelligence to continuously improve its object recognition and classification capabilities. By training on large datasets of various objects, the camera learns to precisely identify and localise objects even in complex and changing environments.
Applications
The Cambrian 3D camera has a wide range of applications. These range from the automation of assembly lines, through order picking and packaging in warehouses, to robotics in food processing and other industries. Thanks to its high accuracy, reliability and flexibility, the Cambrian 3D camera plays a crucial role in the further development of industrial automation. This enables you to make processes more efficient, cost-effective and safer.
