Multi 4000SL – Short Bar Loader for Lathes with Large Spindle Distance

The Multi 4000SL is a high-performance short bar loader for lathes, specifically designed for machine types with a large distance between the machine enclosure and the spindle nose. The system’s structural concept was developed in Switzerland and is manufactured in Germany using high-quality materials and components, ensuring maximum reliability and durability in continuous industrial operation.

Standard Z-Axis Shift Unit for Optimal Access

The Multi 4000SL bar loader is supplied as standard with a Z-axis shift unit. This allows free and convenient access to the reduction tube, enabling quick and easy replacement of the spindle liner. The result is maximum flexibility, short changeover times, and minimized machine downtime.

Modern Control System for Maximum Ease of Use

The 7″ touch display provides simple and intuitive operation. Every parameter and error message is clearly described via information windows, making it possible to quickly identify faults or understand settings even without a user manual. The particularly easy adjustment of the interface between the bar loader and the lathe is a key feature. Settings and programs can be easily read out and saved to an SD card.

The Multi 4000SL is a fully electric and servo-driven short bar loader, featuring a service- and environmentally friendly design. Thanks to easy access to all assemblies, the system is especially maintenance-friendly and simple to understand, even for changing operators.

Fast Changeovers, Precise Loading

Thanks to its well-engineered design, setup and changeover can be completed within 2–5 minutes. The patented lifting mechanism ensures a shock-free and fast loading cycle. This is complemented by gentle material feeding, precise control of the bar feed, and accurate bar positioning without the need for a mechanical stop.

High Machine Compatibility

The Multi 4000SL short bar loader is compatible with nearly all common lathe types, including:

Mazak, Okuma, DMG Mori, SMEC, Doosan, Nakamura, CMZ, Takamaz, Hwacheon, and many more.

Material Versatility for Flexible Applications

As standard, the Multi 4000SL processes round and hexagonal bars.
Optionally, square bars (using the square loading prism) as well as special materials (using the Uni straightener) can also be loaded, providing maximum flexibility in part production.

Technical Characteristics of Short Bar Loaders

With short bar loaders, the bar length is structurally limited by the spindle length of the lathe. In contrast to long bar feeders, the SamSpindle cannot be used with the Multi 4000SL.

The Mini Shaft Loader option is available exclusively for the Multi 3000 and is not compatible with the Multi 4000SL.
